Busan Regional Headquarters of KOSHA Conducts Intensive Patrol Inspections at High-Risk Construction Sites

This inspection focuses on high-risk sites, including roof construction and suspended scaffold work, which are frequently associated with fall accidents, as well as fire hazards and cold wave prevention, which are seasonal vulnerabilities. The inspection period runs for five weeks, from January 12 to February 13, 2026.

Approximately 300 small and medium-sized construction sites in the region have been selected for inspection, with a focus on identifying key risk factors related to the "12 major risk sources," which are considered the primary causes of fatal construction accidents. In addition, the agency plans to simultaneously check whether preventive measures against cold-related illnesses are being implemented to protect workers' health during the winter cold wave.

Jeong Jongdeuk, head of the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, stated, "Through intensive inspections of high-risk construction sites, we will raise awareness about accident prevention and continue to manage the situation by linking non-compliant sites to supervision by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, in order to eradicate accidents."
