Participation from 26 Organizations and Groups
Joint Commitment to Wildfire Prevention in Action
On January 21, Gyeongsan City held the 'Wildfire ZERO·Wildfire OUT Resolution Rally' in the main conference room of Gyeongsan City Hall, reaffirming their joint commitment to wildfire prevention and prompt on-site response.
Approximately 200 participants attended the resolution rally, including Gyeongsan Mayor Cho Hyunil, Gyeongsan City Council Vice Chairman Lee Donguk, provincial and city council members, and heads of 26 local organizations and affiliated groups. The event proceeded in the following order: reading of the Wildfire Prevention Responsibility Declaration, signing ceremony for the Joint Wildfire Prevention Resolution, placard performance, and the Wildfire OUT performance.
During the event, participants signed the joint wildfire prevention resolution and read the responsibility declaration, pledging to strengthen the cooperation system among related organizations and groups and to fulfill their respective responsibilities in wildfire prevention.
Additionally, the attending organizations and groups reviewed their respective roles and cooperation requirements in wildfire prevention and response processes, and shared the importance of maintaining a swift collaborative system in the event of an incident.
In particular, through the Wildfire OUT performance, which simulated a wildfire suppression scenario, participants were able to share the importance of initial response and actual on-site response capabilities.
Gyeongsan Mayor Cho Hyunil emphasized, "When it comes to wildfires, prevention and on-site response are paramount. We will do our utmost to protect citizens' lives and precious forest resources by working closely with related organizations and groups."
Meanwhile, Gyeongsan City is implementing comprehensive wildfire prevention measures, including intensive patrols in wildfire-prone areas, operation of wildfire monitors, wildfire prevention publicity campaigns, and crackdowns on illegal burning activities.
