Gwangju Office of Education's Smart Device Distribution Project Selected as Exemplary Case Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education building.

The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 21st that its smart device distribution project was selected as an exemplary case in the digital device lifecycle management category in the "Research on Discovering and Disseminating Outstanding Cases of Device Lifecycle Management by Metropolitan and Provincial Offices of Education," organized by the Korea Education and Research Information Service.


This research was conducted nationwide among metropolitan and provincial offices of education to comprehensively analyze the introduction of digital devices, their utilization in schools, maintenance and repair, as well as collection and recycling, in order to identify and promote outstanding cases across the country.


In the study, the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education's policy of providing one smart device per student and supporting their use both in school classes and at home was recognized as an exemplary case that achieved both digital teaching and learning innovation and the reduction of learning gaps.


Superintendent Lee Jeongseon stated, "The one-student-one-smart-device distribution project is a policy that realizes the fundamental principle of education that, regardless of students' starting points, everyone should have equal learning opportunities." He added, "We will do our utmost to create a digital learning environment where not a single child is left behind."
