Yangpyeong County in Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jeon Jinseon) announced on January 21 that, to mark the arrival of the New Year in 2026, it will expand and improve administrative systems in the fields of health, welfare, youth, and general administration, aiming to provide more comprehensive support and highly effective administration for residents in all aspects of daily life.
The newly improved systems focus on enhancing the quality of life for residents, with measures such as strengthening access to medical care, expanding support for youth and newlyweds, and opening the Yangpyeong Sports Center.
In the health sector, the Mangmi Health Clinic will newly open, expanding the existing network from 17 to 18 clinics. Located in Daepyeong-ri, Jipyeong-myeon, Mangmi Health Clinic will serve Mangmi 1-ri, Mangmi 2-ri, and Daepyeong 1-ri, providing primary care, chronic disease management, vaccinations, and home visits, thereby improving local access to healthcare.
In addition, the sarcopenia prevention program will be expanded from the current 7 clinics to all 18 clinics, broadening support from the eastern region to residents aged 50 and over in all towns and townships.
Furthermore, the national HPV (human papillomavirus) vaccination program will expand its eligible recipients from girls to boys, and the influenza vaccination program will extend eligibility from those aged 13 to 14.
To further encourage blood donation, donors will receive an additional Yangpyeong Love Gift Certificate worth 20,000 won per donation. The multi-child preferential card program will also be expanded from families with three or more children to include those with two or more children.
In the welfare sector, the scope of real estate brokerage fee support will be expanded to include not only basic livelihood security recipients but also self-reliant youth. This program provides support for brokerage fees in housing transactions (sales or leases) valued at up to 200 million won.
Additionally, the Gyeonggi Province Jeonse (long-term deposit lease) damage support program will be expanded, allowing households affected by Jeonse fraud to receive both emergency housing relocation funds and emergency living expenses, thereby strengthening practical support.
Emergency welfare support for living expenses will be raised to 783,000 won per month, reflecting an increase of approximately 7.2% in the standard median income, and the eligibility criteria will be broadened to further protect households facing crises.
In the youth sector, the requirements for rent support for young entrepreneurs will be eased, raising the annual sales threshold from 100 million won to 200 million won and eliminating the rent payment requirement.
For newlyweds, the application period for the housing loan interest support program will be moved up from the second half of the year to the first half, and income criteria will be based on the year before last, allowing for faster support.
Additionally, the enlistment support grant system will be improved so that applications can be made within six months after enlistment, rather than only before enlistment, which is expected to boost the morale of service members.
In the field of general administration, the living wage in Yangpyeong County will be increased to 11,300 won per hour, maintaining a level 9.5% higher than the 2026 minimum wage of 10,320 won.
Furthermore, the Yangpyeong Sports Center will officially open on March 3, enabling residents to use various sports facilities such as the swimming pool and gymnasium, thereby further strengthening the infrastructure for community sports.
The Yangpyeong County Video Media Center will transition from its pilot operation to a systematic paid service model. Small business owners, farmers, and social economy organizations will be fully exempt from usage fees, while the next-lowest income group, single-parent families, and national merit recipients will receive a 50% discount.
Additionally, a mobile passport information verification service will be introduced in the first half of 2026, enabling convenient identity verification via a smartphone app.
Governor Jeon Jinseon stated, "In 2026, tangible changes will begin to be felt in the daily lives of our residents," adding, "We will carefully ensure that these evolving administrative systems contribute to making 'Attractive Yangpyeong,' where people and nature are happy, a reality."
