Lee Jungil, head of the plant, stated, "Safety is a non-negotiable top priority, and this declaration ceremony will serve as an opportunity for all employees to take responsibility as the main agents of safety. We plan to establish an advanced safety and health management system through continuous institutional improvements, while also listening to voices from the field to ensure the solidification of a strong safety culture."
To provide a safe and pleasant working environment, Hankook Tire has established the SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) Committee under its Board-level ESG Operations Committee, and has been working to establish and advance a sustainable safety and health management process centered on a dedicated safety and health management organization that reports directly to the CEO.
At its eight global production sites, the company is striving to establish an autonomous and mature safety culture in which employees lead safety innovation, by operating the Five Golden Rules system, implementing the Seven Major Safety Behaviors, building a safety hotline, and conducting pre-work TBM (Tool Box Meeting) activities.
A Hankook Tire representative commented, "We are also accelerating the creation of a safe workplace by establishing a data-driven, systematic monitoring system that utilizes equipment safety device inspection processes. We plan to further advance our proactive and preventive safety and health management system, maintain close communication with the labor union, and take the lead in raising and spreading safety culture awareness."
