Expansion of Employee Traditional Music Performances, "Crown Haitai Haneumhoe"
Sixteen Performances Scheduled This Year in Cities Including Gyeongju, Gangneung, and Jeonju
Employees of Crown Haitai Confectionery will take the stage themselves, joining renowned masters and virtuosos of traditional Korean music for a nationwide tour of traditional music performances.
On January 21, Crown Haitai Confectionery announced that it will hold the "Crown Haitai Haneumhoe," a traditional music performance by its employees, in 16 cities across the country throughout this year. The Crown Haitai Haneumhoe, which first began in 2024, is a performance where employees, having learned and practiced traditional music themselves, share the stage with professional Korean musicians.
In its inaugural year, two performances were held in Daejeon and Daegu. Last year, a total of four performances took place in Busan (two times), Gwangju, and Daegu, as well as a special performance at the Osaka Expo in Japan. In total, 1,200 participants have taken the stage so far, and approximately 10,000 customers have attended the performances. All events were organized by inviting local customers, allowing employees to directly express their gratitude.
Starting this year, Crown Haitai Confectionery will expand the number of performances. Moving beyond the previous focus on major metropolitan cities with four performances per year, the company will now include smaller cities, increasing the total to 16 performances. The aim is to bring the beauty of traditional music to regions where access to cultural and artistic performances is limited. The performance troupe, consisting of employees with skills comparable to professional musicians and accomplished Korean traditional artists, will meet local audiences at least once a month.
The first Crown Haitai Haneumhoe performance of 2026 will be held on January 28 at the Grand Theater of the Gwangju Culture & Art Center in Gwangju Metropolitan City. Subsequent performances are scheduled for Gyeongju in February, Jeonju in March, and Gangneung in April, continuing on to other major cities and smaller towns for a total of 16 performances.
While there have been cases of companies sponsoring traditional Korean music performances, it is considered rare for employees themselves to take the stage and tour smaller cities across the country. The fact that top-level masters and virtuosos of Korean music share the stage with employees, and that local musical prodigies are also invited to participate, adds further meaning to the event. This initiative is expected to provide valuable stage experience to future talents in Korean traditional music and promote the unique characteristics of regional traditional music.
A representative from Crown Haitai Confectionery stated, "Our employees are personally bringing these performances to customers nationwide, hoping to create happiness together through lively and enjoyable traditional music," adding, "We look forward to making these performances even more joyful and meaningful for customers in every region through Korean traditional music."
