Early Convening of the Financial Consumer Protection Council
NongHyup Financial Group held the Financial Consumer Protection Council early in order to proactively respond to the financial authorities’ strengthened consumer protection policies and changes in the Financial Supervisory Service’s evaluation system.
On the 19th, NongHyup Financial Group convened the first Financial Consumer Protection Council of 2026, where the Chief Consumer Protection Officers (CCOs) of the holding company and all subsidiaries participated to focus on discussing strategies for advancing the group-wide consumer protection framework.

During this council, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on key agenda items, including strengthening group governance centered on consumer protection to concretely implement the policy direction of the financial authorities at the group level, and improving internal controls to align with the Financial Supervisory Service’s consumer protection evaluation system.
Yoon Gitae, Chief Officer of Financial Consumer Protection at NongHyup Financial Group, stated at the council, “Consumer protection is no longer a matter of choice-it is a matter of survival directly linked to the continued existence of NongHyup Financial Group,” emphasizing, “The spirit of consumer protection must be embedded throughout the entire product lifecycle, from planning and approval to sales and after-sales management.” He called for a proactive group-wide response in line with the “Financial Consumer Protection Improvement Roadmap” announced by the Financial Supervisory Service on December 21 last year.
A representative from NongHyup Financial Group commented, “This year, we held the council early to respond promptly and thoroughly to the financial authorities’ strengthened consumer protection policies and changes in the supervisory system,” adding, “This council has served as a turning point for further advancing NongHyup Financial Group’s financial consumer protection governance.”
