Six Specialized Zones Created
Green Corridor to Be Completed by March
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Heeyoung), has unveiled the newly renovated Civil Service Office on the second floor of the Comprehensive Administrative Town as a 'Healing Garden' that harmonizes nature and relaxation.
The district announced on January 21 that it had completed the renovation of the Civil Service Office, transforming it into a resident-friendly space. By expanding the existing office, the district aimed to provide an environment where residents can access administrative services comfortably while also enjoying opportunities for rest and communication.

The 'Healing Garden' consists of six specialized zones, from the outdoor area to the interior Civil Service Office: Haetmadang (Sun Yard), Barameogwi (Wind Entrance), Allimteo (Information Zone), Geuneulteo (Shade Area), Jeongdamteo (Conversation Area), and Syuimteo (Rest Area). Each space integrates natural elements with sensory design, allowing visitors to feel at ease as if strolling through a forest path.
At the building entrance, Haetmadang (Sun Yard), and at the office entryway, Barameogwi (Wind Entrance), subtle fragrances greet visitors. The Allimteo (Information Zone), where the information desk is located, features barrier-free and universal design principles, while Jeongdamteo (Conversation Area), where administrative work takes place, is arranged in an open layout.
At the center of the Civil Service Office, Syuimteo (Rest Area) and Geuneulteo (Shade Area) are furnished with lounge-style furniture and vertical gardens. The writing desks are equipped with sound experience content using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, enabling visitors to listen to stories and music about Yongsan's history.
The district plans to complete new planting by the end of March, finalizing a healing walking trail that connects Noksapyeong Square and the Itaewon Observatory.
Park Heeyoung, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, stated, "This renovation is part of our efforts to provide high-quality civil services worthy of being selected as a 'People’s Happiness Civil Service Office' by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety." She added, "I hope the district office will become a complex cultural space where residents can find comfort and enjoy culture in their daily lives."
