Mokpo National University has proven its competitiveness in employment by ranking among the top five universities nationwide in the Glocal University Employment Rate Survey.
On January 20, Mokpo National University announced that it achieved an employment rate of 67.5% in the "2024 Glocal University Employment Rate Survey," placing it in the top five among 31 glocal universities nationwide.
This figure represents a 1.7 percentage point increase compared to the previous year (65.8%). The university explained that strengthening practical and field-oriented education, along with establishing a student-tailored employment support system, contributed to the rise in employment rates.
By department, the College of Pharmacy recorded the highest employment rate at 96.6%, followed by the Department of Architecture at 92.3% and the Department of Cadastral Science at 89%. Many other majors also achieved results above the national average. Notably, the university demonstrated strong employment outcomes not only in medical and pharmaceutical fields but also across engineering, social sciences, and life sciences.
These employment achievements have also positively impacted student recruitment. For the 2026 regular admissions (within the quota at Dorim Campus), Mokpo National University attracted 1,375 applicants for 191 spots, resulting in a competition rate of 7.2 to 1.
President Song Hacheol stated, "Achieving a top-five employment rate nationwide is the result of the combined educational capabilities of our students and the university. The increase in the regular admissions competition rate is further evidence of the growing trust in Mokpo National University."
He added, "We will continue to strengthen education and employment support to nurture practical and professional talent that contributes to regional and national development."
