Gumi City Council Closes 293rd Extraordinary Session

A Total of 29 Agenda Items Addressed, Including 13 Ordinance Bills (8 Proposed by Council Members) and Consent Items

On January 20, the Gumi City Council in North Gyeongsang Province concluded all proceedings for its first extraordinary session of 2026 with the closing of the 4th plenary session of the 293rd Extraordinary Session held in the main chamber.


During the plenary session, a total of 29 agenda items were handled, including 13 ordinance bills-8 of which were proposed by council members and reviewed by standing committees-14 consent items, and 2 opinion submissions.

In particular, during this session, the council received reports from each relevant department on the "2026 Major Work Plans," closely examined the core projects that Gumi City will pursue this year, and thoroughly reviewed the effectiveness of these projects and the overall city administration.


Chairman Park Kyosang stated, "I hope the executive body will do its utmost to ensure that all projects proceed smoothly in accordance with the 2026 major work plans. The council will also continue to provide thorough oversight and checks, as well as offer productive alternatives and improvement measures."


He further requested, "With the Lunar New Year approaching, I ask the executive body to make special efforts so that all citizens can enjoy a safe and warm holiday."


The next session, the 294th Extraordinary Session, is scheduled to be held for seven days from March 11 to March 17, during which the appointment of settlement inspection committee members, handling of ordinance bills, and other agenda items are planned.
