Andong City Museum Reaffirms Its Presence with Fourth Consecutive 'Excellent Institution' Recognition

Andong City Museum has once again reaffirmed its status as a leading public museum in North Gyeongsang Province, having been selected as an Excellent Institution for the fourth consecutive time in the '2025 Public Museum Evaluation and Certification System' organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Andong City Museum Selected as an Excellent Institution for Four Consecutive Times in the Public Museum Evaluation and Certification System

On January 20, Andong City announced, "Andong City Museum has been recognized as an Excellent Institution in the public museum evaluation and certification, which is conducted every three years for public museums nationwide."

The Public Museum Evaluation and Certification System comprehensively assesses the professionalism and public value of public museum operations. The evaluation is based on five criteria: ▲ achievement of founding objectives ▲ adequacy of organization, personnel, facilities, and financial management ▲ thoroughness of collection and management of materials ▲ performance in organizing exhibitions and educational programs ▲ public responsibility.

Since its opening in 1992, Andong City Museum has steadily expanded its exhibitions and educational programs based on the region's historical and cultural resources. Currently, the museum attracts over 100,000 visitors annually, and since being certified as Gyeongsangbuk-do's first registered museum in 1993, it has achieved the distinction of being selected as an Excellent Institution for four consecutive terms.

An official from Andong City stated, "This achievement of being selected for the fourth consecutive time is not only the result of the museum's efforts but also a collective accomplishment of our citizens. We will continue to do our utmost to become an even more beneficial and inspiring museum, without resting on our laurels."
