This Onnuri Bicycle Incentive Program is a system in which citizens who use public bicycles for more than 30 minutes a day and participate in simple on-site management activities, such as setting up bicycles that have fallen over at rental stations and cleaning stored bicycles, are recognized for their volunteer work.

Participants will be credited with up to 30 minutes of volunteer work per day, and these records will be automatically registered and managed on the '1365 Volunteer Portal' without the need for any separate paperwork.

The recruitment for citizen participants for the first quarter will take place from January 19 to January 30, and activities will be carried out for two months from February to March. Any citizen aged 15 or older who is eligible to use public bicycles can participate.

Meanwhile, this program is the first citizen participation-type public bicycle incentive program implemented by a local government in Korea. In 2025 alone, 1,182 people participated, achieving a total of 2,356 hours of volunteer work.

A city official stated, "This is a proactive administrative policy to practice carbon neutrality through the promotion of bicycle use and to establish a citizen participation-based management system," adding, "Starting with bicycles, we will continue to expand the project to include public transportation and walking, thereby fostering an eco-friendly transportation city ecosystem."
