"No Reason to Doubt Jang Donghyuk's Sincerity in Pursuing Special Prosecutor"
"Struggle Demonstrated Through Chun Haram's Sharpness and Jang Donghyuk's Weightiness"
Lee Junseok, leader of the Reform New Party, announced on the 20th that he would meet with Jang Donghyuk, leader of the People Power Party, as soon as he returns to Korea to discuss ways to cooperate. Leader Jang has been on a hunger strike for six consecutive days, calling for the introduction of dual special prosecutors to investigate both the Unification Church Gate and allegations of nomination fund irregularities involving the Democratic Party of Korea.
On this day, Lee stated on social media, "Having completed my parliamentary diplomacy schedule, I am now returning home and turning my attention back to domestic politics," adding, "Separately, yet together. If the opposition party remains true to its nature, a path to prevent one-party dominance will surely open."

He emphasized, "When someone resorts to extreme measures, it is an attempt to demonstrate their sincerity through physical hardship," and added, "There is no reason to doubt Leader Jang's sincerity in his pursuit of the special prosecutor's passage."
Lee also said, "Chun Haram, floor leader of the Reform New Party, is sharpening the opposition's edge by rigorously vetting Minister nominee Lee Hyehoon," adding, "Chun Haram's sharpness and Jang Donghyuk's weightiness represent the two approaches to struggle demonstrated by the opposition."
He continued, "Under the heavy political climate created by Leader Jang, every political figure must consider whether each word they speak is a step toward restoring order in the Republic of Korea," adding, "Rather than making tone-deaf complaints to cover up one's own faults, we must focus on how to fight more effectively."
Lee, who had traveled to Mexico and Guatemala for parliamentary diplomacy with National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joo Ho-young, has moved up his return schedule and will come back to Korea on the 21st.
