Namyangju City Opens New Geumnam 2-ri Village Hall in Hwado-eup

Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 20th that it held a completion ceremony for the Geumnam 2-ri Village Hall at 515 Geumnam-ri, Hwado-eup.

This completion ceremony was organized as part of the village support project, which was implemented as a public contribution measure during the development of the Geumnam 5 District logistics center. The event aimed to commemorate the completion of the newly created space and to strengthen communication with local residents.


Approximately 150 people attended the event, including Joo Kwangdeok, Mayor of Namyangju City, members of the National Assembly, provincial and city council members, heads of local institutions and social organizations in Hwado-eup, and village residents. The ceremony began with an opening session, followed by the presentation of appreciation plaques, congratulatory remarks by Mayor Joo Kwangdeok, a plaque unveiling and ribbon-cutting, commemorative photography, and a luncheon.


The Geumnam 2-ri Village Hall is a two-story building with a total floor area of 123 square meters. The basement level has been constructed as a pilotis parking lot for the convenience of residents.


With a total project cost of approximately 500 million won, this new space has been created as a community-oriented facility where residents can communicate and engage in various communal activities in their daily lives. It is expected to serve as a central hub for the local community in the future.


Mayor Joo Kwangdeok stated, "I sincerely congratulate everyone on the completion of the village hall, which has been a long-standing wish of the residents," and added, "I hope the Geumnam 2-ri Village Hall becomes a place where residents can encourage one another and share warmth together."


Lee Namseok, head of Geumnam 2-ri, expressed, "I would like to extend my deep gratitude to everyone who has supported and worked hard for the construction of the village hall," and continued, "I hope this space becomes a comfortable shelter where residents can gather, communicate, and build harmony, and that it will serve as a foundation for making our village an even better place to live."
