Planting Hope on Scars... Cheongsong County Rises Together

“2026 Major Administrative Tasks Report Meeting” Held

Although traces of soot still remain where the flames once passed, Cheongsong County, known as the “Oxygen Cafe,” has made its choice clear.

Cheongsong County in North Gyeongsang Province is holding the “2026 Major Administrative Tasks Report Meeting” in the county office’s small conference room for three days, from January 19 to 21.

Presided over by County Governor Yoon Kyunghee, this meeting aims to comprehensively review the 2026 administrative work plans and the implementation status of the eighth popularly elected government’s pledges, with the goal of creating a Cheongsong County where residents can truly experience an improved quality of life.

Cheongsong County has set wildfire recovery and stabilizing residents’ livelihoods as its top priorities, while also focusing discussions on key projects to enhance the quality of life for residents, such as strengthening agricultural competitiveness, revitalizing the local economy, and expanding the welfare safety net.

Major projects for 2026 include: the Cheongsong Apple Smart House; dissemination of disaster prevention technologies and responses to abnormal weather; construction of the Cheongsong County Welfare Center for the Disabled; implementation of the “Grandparents-Grandchildren Care” senior employment project; establishment of a health hub in medically underserved areas; development of a 54-hole public park golf course in Pacheon-myeon; creation of the Cheongsong Forest Leisure Sports Resort Complex; construction of public rental housing in Jinbo-myeon; the Bunam and Hyeondong Green New Deal underground power line project; the Siryang District rural space improvement project; and the Bugok wildfire-affected area special regeneration project.

The county stated, “2026 is a critical time to overcome challenges and prepare for a new leap forward,” adding, “We will communicate with residents and implement effective policies to make hope a part of everyday life in Cheongsong.”

Cheongsong County plans to supplement detailed action plans based on the feedback gathered at this meeting and to ensure that major administrative projects are tangibly felt by residents on the ground.
