The President of Mexico described the BTS concert scheduled for May in Mexico City as "historic," emphasizing the influence of K-pop.

Claudia Sheinbaum, President of Mexico, stated at a regular press conference on the 19th (local time), "It is a great pleasure that the famous Korean group BTS is coming to Mexico," adding, "This is something that young people in Mexico have been requesting for a long time."

BTS will perform at GNP Seguros Stadium in Mexico City on May 7, 9, and 10 as part of their world tour. GNP Seguros Stadium is a venue with a capacity of about 60,000 people, where globally renowned artists such as Blackpink, Twice, Paul McCartney, and Taylor Swift have also performed.

President Sheinbaum mentioned, "There have been issues regarding ticket reservations for the concert," and added, "The head of the Federal Consumer Protection Agency will provide a direct explanation." Ivan Escalante, head of the Mexican Federal Consumer Protection Agency, reported that they had received about 4,700 complaints regarding seat assignments and other issues even before the ticket presale began.

Local fans are demanding the release of the seating chart, as well as transparent information on fees and pricing through social networking services (SNS). Escalante plans to send an official document to ticket agencies, requesting that all information be made public in a transparent manner. He also intends to require clear notification of the presale ticket allocation for the official fan club "ARMY" and the proportion of tickets sold at each stage.

In Korea as well, ahead of the BTS concert scheduled for June 12-13 in Busan, there was an issue with hotels overcharging for rooms. At the time, President Lee Jaemyung personally raised the issue by sharing a related article on X (formerly Twitter).
