Blue House Launches 'Integrated Local Government Fiscal Support TF' Led by Chief Policy Secretary Kim Yongbeom

The Blue House announced on January 20 that it has formed an "Integrated Local Government Fiscal Support Task Force (TF)" to discuss fiscal support for local governments.

According to a written briefing by Kim Namjun, spokesperson for the Blue House, the head of the task force will be the Chief Presidential Secretary for Policy, while the Secretary for Fiscal Planning and the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Planning and Budget will serve as co-coordinators.

Additionally, the Senior Presidential Secretary for Political Affairs and the Senior Presidential Secretary for Economic Growth will participate as members, and vice ministers from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Ministry of Education are also included in the task force.

Spokesperson Kim stated, "We also plan to operate a working-level task force led by the Secretary for Fiscal Planning, consisting of director-level officials from relevant ministries, as well as senior secretaries and administrative officers from the Blue House." He added, "The government will swiftly hold the first meeting within January and will promptly prepare and announce detailed measures for integrated local government fiscal support."
