University, Local Government, and Industry Collaboration
to Revitalize the Regional Edutech Ecosystem
Pusan National University has officially launched a collaborative system encompassing universities, local governments, and private companies to invigorate the edutech industry in the southeastern region.
On January 19, Pusan National University held the "Pusan National University×Southeastern Region Edutech Alliance Exchange Meeting" at Hotel Nongshim in Geumjeong-gu, Busan, providing a platform for discussions on building a regional edutech ecosystem and enhancing industrial competitiveness, the university announced on January 20.
The event was organized to establish a foundation for the edutech industry that enables joint growth between universities and private companies, to vitalize the southeastern region's edutech ecosystem, and to increase the commercialization and success potential of local enterprises.
On this day, Pusan National University signed a multilateral business agreement for the "Activation of the Pusan National University×Southeastern Region Edutech Industry" with 12 organizations, including Busan National University of Education, Busan Metropolitan City, Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, Busan Institute of Science and Technology for Higher Education Advancement, Busan Information Technology Association, Definition, RYUTEN Technologies, Edutech Society, Korea Educational Information and Media Society, Korea Smart Edutech Cooperative, and Gyeongsang Digital Educators Union.
The participating organizations agreed to strengthen collaboration among local industries, academia, and research institutes, and to pool their capabilities to promote the sustainable development and mutual growth of the edutech industry.
During the subsequent exchange program, the achievements and support tasks of the Pusan National University×Southeastern Region Edutech Alliance were shared, followed by a comprehensive discussion on ways to vitalize the edutech industry. The participating organizations and companies introduced their respective strategies and discussed various collaborative models, including joint research, demonstration projects, and commercialization.
On the morning of January 20, the key participating organizations held a regular meeting to further specify the future operational direction and collaborative tasks of the Pusan National University×Southeastern Region Edutech Alliance.
Lee Jaewoo, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Pusan National University, stated, "Creating an edutech ecosystem where universities and private companies can thrive together will become a key driving force for regional industrial development. Based on our accumulated research capabilities and infrastructure, Pusan National University will actively support the growth of local edutech companies and develop a successful model for revitalizing the southeastern region's edutech industry, growing together with the local community."
