This volunteer activity was an interactive social contribution event where LOFA employees personally made and donated furniture. It was designed both to improve the outdated living environments of group homes for people with disabilities and to foster a sense of accomplishment among employees while spreading a culture of sharing. LOFA provided a total sponsorship of 10 million won for this initiative.
About 20 LOFA employees participated in the event, and Ahn Byunghwa, Executive Director of LOFA, attended and conducted the donation ceremony. After the ceremony, employees, guided by a professional instructor, personally crafted practical furniture items such as folding desks, two-tier bookshelves, and wooden cutting boards.
Notably, this activity was carried out in collaboration with small business owners, expanding their participation opportunities and embodying the dual goals of revitalizing the local economy and creating social value.
The Seoul Metropolitan Association of Welfare Facilities for the Disabled conducted a preliminary survey of group homes for people with disabilities in Seoul to assess their needs. Based on this, the association plans to produce and provide customized furniture required by these facilities. The completed furniture will be delivered sequentially to 106 group homes for people with disabilities across Seoul.
Ahn Byunghwa, Executive Director of LOFA, stated, "I hope that the furniture made directly by our employees will provide practical help in improving the living environments of group homes for people with disabilities," and added, "Taking this collaboration as an opportunity, we will continue to expand partnerships with public institutions and private companies to continuously discover and implement various social contribution models to enhance the welfare of people with disabilities."
