Chonnam National University Ph.D. Appointed Vice Dean of Pharmacy at International University in Cambodia

Chonnam National University announced on January 20 that Dr. Khim Koemchhoy, an alumnus, has been appointed as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at International University (IU, Pharmacy at International University) in Cambodia.

Dr. Khim Koemchhoy earned a Ph.D. in Medical Science from Chonnam National University, under the joint supervision of Professors Lee Junhaeng and Lee Sieun, both globally recognized in the fields of immunology and biomedical research.

After receiving his doctorate, he further strengthened his expertise in immunology, vaccine research, and biomedical science by serving as a postdoctoral researcher at Chonnam National University from 2023 to 2025. During his doctoral and postdoctoral periods, he actively participated in advanced laboratory research, international collaboration, and academic publishing, contributing to the university's global research achievements.

As Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at International University (Pharmacy at International University), Dr. Khim Koemchhoy is responsible for academic leadership, curriculum development, research strategy planning, and faculty capacity building. He is also leading pharmaceutical education innovation in Cambodia by strengthening international cooperation, expanding research-oriented pharmacy education, and integrating innovation and evidence-based practice into pharmacy education.

International University stated that the appointment of Dr. Khim Koemchhoy demonstrates the enhancement of academic quality and research excellence through scholars with global training. His background at Chonnam National University is expected to play a key role in advancing pharmaceutical education, research, and collaboration in the Southeast Asian region.
