Seodaemun-gu to Host Redevelopment and Reconstruction Maintenance Project Academy

Eight-Session Program Next Month
Popular Course Attracts 1,581 Participants

Seodaemun-gu in Seoul (District Mayor Lee Sungheon) will continue to operate the 'Maintenance Project Academy' in the first half of this year to help residents better understand redevelopment and reconstruction maintenance projects.

The district will accept applications from the first 100 people on a first-come, first-served basis until January 30. The program will run for a total of eight sessions, every Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. for two hours, from February 10 to July 14, at the 'Hahaha Hongje Village Community Center' near Hongje Station.


The lectures will be conducted by experts such as instructors from the Seoul Maintenance Project Academy, lawyers, and appraisers. The curriculum covers key topics at each stage, including maintenance planning and district designation procedures, the formation and operation of associations, the roles and ethical responsibilities of association executives, understanding of appraisals, approval of project implementation plans, approval of management and disposal plans, the entire process from relocation to dissolution, and practical Q&A. Participants who attend at least seven sessions will receive a certificate of completion.


Since its launch in 2023, the academy has been well received, with 1,581 people attending through last year. Not only executives and employees of maintenance project associations or landowners, but also general residents are eligible to participate. Applications can be submitted on the Seodaemun-gu Office website, and the program is offered free of charge.
