Earns Points with Tied 11th Finish at Sony Open
Scheffler, McIlroy, Fleetwood Maintain Top Three

Siwoo Kim has risen to 42nd in the world rankings.


In the men's golf weekly world rankings announced on the 19th (local time), he earned 1.9754 points, moving up four spots from 46th place last week. This is the highest ranking among Korean players. He earned ranking points by finishing tied for 11th at the Sony Open, the opening event of the 2026 PGA Tour season, held at Waialae Country Club (par 70) in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, the previous day. The total prize money for the tournament was 9.1 million dollars.

Scottie Scheffler (USA), Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), Tommy Fleetwood (England), Xander Schauffele, and Russell Henley (both USA) maintained their positions in the top 5. Chris Gotterup (USA), who claimed his third career win at the Sony Open, jumped 11 spots from 28th to 17th place.


Among Korean players, Sungjae Im dropped four spots to 48th. Byeonghun An, who joined LIV Golf this year, is tied for 105th. Kim Joo-hyung is ranked 109th, and Kim Sung-hyun, who played on the Korn Ferry Tour (the second division) last year and returned to the first division this year, performed well by finishing tied for 13th at the Sony Open, climbing 14 spots to 150th in the world rankings. Among Korean Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) players, Ok Taehun holds the highest world ranking at 181st.
