Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on January 20 that it is actively promoting fundraising for designated projects under the Hometown Love Donation Program.
To revitalize the Hometown Love Donation Program, the city plans to collect donations for projects closely tied to citizens’ daily lives until October. The designated projects include “Bucheon FC 1995 Youth Team Training Equipment Support” (20 million KRW) and “Mom’s Convenient Taxi: Adding Hometown Love” (30 million KRW).
The city expects that by providing essential training equipment such as uniforms, soccer shoes, and soccer balls to the Bucheon FC 1995 youth players, it will improve their training environment, expand the local sports base, and help build a fan base for Bucheon FC.
In addition, the city will link the Hometown Love Donation Program to “Mom’s Convenient Taxi,” a transportation welfare service available to any pregnant woman registered as a resident of Bucheon.
The city currently provides transportation convenience for hospital visits and other outings through Mom’s Convenient Taxi, supporting taxi fares up to 13,000 KRW per ride. Starting in October, the city will allow the use of designated donations to cover one non-hospital trip per month, and from November, the monthly usage limit will be increased from four times to six times.
Going forward, the city plans to maintain a structure that allows donors to directly select how their donations are used, thereby enhancing transparency and donor satisfaction. The city also aims to expand designated donation fields by focusing on projects that citizens can truly feel and benefit from.
A Bucheon City official stated, “This designated donation project was planned around local issues that resonate with citizens,” adding, “We will transparently disclose how the donations are used.”
Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate to local governments outside their registered address, with full tax deductions for donations up to 100,000 KRW and the option to receive gifts in return. Donations can be made through the Hometown Love eum website or at any Nonghyup Bank branch nationwide.
