Partnership Continues Since 2022
Expanding Lineup to Include Baseball, Basketball, and Tennis
On January 19, Tving announced that it will strengthen its sports content lineup by extending its exclusive broadcasting contract with the mixed martial arts (MMA) organization UFC through 2029.
Starting with the live broadcast of "UFC 324: Gaethje vs. Pimblett," which will take place on January 25 (local time), Tving will continue to provide live coverage. As the first numbered event of the year, a showdown between top-ranked lightweight fighters is anticipated.
Since May 2022, Tving, together with tvN Sports, has been responsible for UFC broadcasts in Korea. With this renewed contract, Tving has secured stable broadcasting rights for the next three years and plans to significantly expand fighter-focused secondary content, including video-on-demand (VOD) and highlights, in addition to live match coverage.
Currently, Tving is expanding its sports portfolio to include baseball, basketball, and tennis. A company representative stated, "We aim to establish sports as everyday content that users can enjoy daily, rather than as one-off events," adding, "We plan to enhance accessibility and convenience to solidify our position as a 'sportainment' (sports + entertainment) platform."
