Myungseok Na Officially Inaugurated as Franchise Association President: "Will Lead Restoration of Trust and Resurgence"

Myungseok Na, the newly appointed President of the Korea Franchise Association, stated in his inaugural address on January 19, "I will lead the industry's resurgence through key visions aimed at restoring trust and revitalizing the franchise sector."

President Na made these remarks at the '8th and 9th President Inauguration and Vision Declaration Ceremony' held at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, in the afternoon. He emphasized, "Although the franchise industry accounts for 7% of the national GDP and is a significant sector, it has become one of the most misunderstood industries due to a few negative cases."

He presented the following as his main visions: strengthening win-win and ethical management, enhancing welfare such as mutual aid projects, globalizing K-franchise, and reinforcing policy and media functions.

President Na stressed, "I will support the spread of mutual growth in the industry, enhance competitiveness, and help open new markets, transforming the association into a platform for mutual prosperity." He added, "We will establish an Ethics Committee and introduce an ethical management certification system to strengthen self-regulation."

He also explained, "We will promote franchise mutual aid projects and support safe management and welfare for franchisees. Furthermore, by setting up a K-Franchise Global Promotion Headquarters, we will collaborate with small and medium-sized franchises facing challenges in overseas expansion and help them enter global markets, creating K-franchise districts around the world."

He continued, "We will accurately inform the National Assembly, government, and the public about the true state and positive functions of the franchise industry, pursue the easing of excessive regulations, propose rational alternatives, and work to restore trust in the industry." He added, "Through these key visions, I will take the lead in making the franchise industry competitive on the global stage."

Meanwhile, the inauguration ceremony included the farewell address of outgoing President Hyunsik Jung, the inaugural address and vision declaration by President Myungseok Na, a congratulatory video from Prime Minister Minseok Kim, and congratulatory remarks from key domestic and international guests. Afterwards, attendees shared a dinner, exchanged well-wishes for the development of the franchise industry, and strengthened their camaraderie.

The event was attended by a total of about 500 people, including 13 National Assembly members from standing committees related to the association, officials from government ministries and agencies such as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Fair Trade Commission, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, as well as representatives from academia, the legal community, major industry associations, and members of the association.
