MOU Signed with Innogrid, Lemong, and IGross
Connecting AI and AX Education, Field Training, and Employment Opportunities
In an era where securing AI talent determines a university's competitiveness, Soonchunhyang University has partnered with industry to make a leap toward becoming an "AI-centered university."
The SW-Centered University Project Group at Soonchunhyang University announced on January 19 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Innogrid, Lemong, and IGross to foster practical professionals in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Artificial Experience (AX).
This agreement was promoted to establish a strategic foundation for selection in the next AI-Centered University Project, based on the educational and research achievements accumulated through the university's SW-Centered University Project.
The initiative aims to directly connect the university's educational innovation capabilities with industry needs, systematically nurturing customized AI and software talent to lead future industries.
Under the agreement, Soonchunhyang University and the participating companies will collaborate on: ▲ joint design of curricula and extracurricular programs in AI and AX fields; ▲ operation of field training, internship, and employment linkage programs; ▲ personnel exchanges among faculty, researchers, industry experts, and students for the implementation of the AI-Centered University Project; ▲ joint use of educational, research, and practical spaces; and ▲ identification and joint promotion of AI-based solution development projects with commercialization potential.
Jeon Changwan, head of the SW-Centered University Project Group, stated, "It is meaningful to collaborate with companies that possess advanced AI-based technologies. Through this agreement, we will continue to innovate our education so that students can grow into practical AI professionals who are immediately effective in the industry, rather than remaining at the theoretical level."
He added, "We will take the achievements of the SW-Centered University Project to the next level and move one step closer to our mid- to long-term goal of being selected for the AI-Centered University Project."
Meanwhile, Soonchunhyang University is overhauling its software education system and focusing its efforts on nurturing AI and ICT convergence talent through the SW-Centered University Project, which is supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP).
