"Protecting Residents' Health" ... Goseong County Holds Completion Ceremony for Health Pium Center

Goseong-eup Rural Central Area Revitalization Project

On January 19, Goseong County in South Gyeongsang Province held a completion ceremony for the Goseong-eup Rural Central Area Revitalization Project Health Pium Center.

More than 50 residents attended the ceremony, including Lee Sanggeun, Mayor of Goseong County; Choi Eulseok, Chairman of the Goseong County Council; Baek Sumyeong and Heo Dongwon, Provincial Assembly members; members of the Goseong County Council; and members of the Goseong-eup Rural Central Area Revitalization Project Steering Committee.

The Health Pium Center was established as part of the 2019 Rural Central Area Revitalization Project, which was selected through a public contest. The project had a total budget of 5.69 billion won and was built at 13-3 Seongnae-ri, Goseong-eup, near the Goseong-eup Health Branch.

The facility covers a land area of 1,865 square meters, with a total floor area of 1,169.66 square meters. It consists of one building with four above-ground floors, and includes a Maru exercise room, a Baduk (Go) classroom, a fitness assessment room, a circuit exercise room, a hydrotherapy room, a nutrition education lounge, and a children's sports facility.

In particular, by linking with local health resources such as the Goseong-eup Health Branch, the center is expected to serve as a hub for community life services in Goseong-eup, enabling a more systematic response to residents' health management needs.

Meanwhile, the Health Pium Center plans to begin full-scale operations in the first half of 2026, following the installation of equipment and fixtures and the establishment of its operational system.

Kim Hyunju, Director of the Agricultural Cooperative Technology Center, stated, "The completion of the Health Pium Center is an achievement in regional development created jointly by the administration and local residents," adding, "I hope that with the warm interest and active participation of the residents, the center will become an even more vibrant space."
