Yangju Hoheup Temple Site Museum Launches Public Acquisition of Artifacts for 'Rediscovering Yangju's History'

The Yangju Hoheup Temple Site Museum is moving forward with the public acquisition of artifacts in order to establish the status and historical and cultural identity of old Yangju, which was once the central city of northern Gyeonggi Province.

The artifacts to be acquired include all items related to the history and culture of Yangju, spanning from the prehistoric era to the modern and contemporary periods. In particular, the museum will prioritize the acquisition of artifacts related to the Hoheup Temple Site, the royal family, and Buddhist culture.


The public notice period for artifact acquisition runs from January 19 to February 6, 2026. To apply to sell artifacts, applicants can download the application form from the Yangju City Hall or Yangju Hoheup Temple Site Museum website and submit it to the museum by registered mail or email between February 4 and February 6, 2026.


Anyone, including private collectors, cultural heritage dealers, and corporations, may apply to sell artifacts. For more information, please refer to the announcement on the museum's website or contact the museum team directly.


A museum official stated, "Through this artifact acquisition, we plan to discover and purchase the history and cultural heritage of Yangju, the heart of northern Gyeonggi Province, and utilize them for research, exhibitions, education, and public relations. We ask for the active participation and interest of artifact holders."
