Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province will begin recruiting students for the "2026 1st Yangju City Lifelong Learning Program" starting from January 20, reflecting the diverse learning needs of its citizens.

This program, which will commence in February, consists of 79 diverse courses, including: ▲Winter Clothing and Kitchen Management Tips ▲Utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) Starting with Gemini ▲Level 2 Space Organization Curator ▲Sewing Stories: Coin Purse/Pouch ▲Canvas Acrylic Painting, and more.
The program will accept a total of 1,554 participants, targeting Yangju residents or those employed within the city.
The courses will be offered at four locations: Deokgye Lifelong Learning Center, Baekseok Lifelong Learning Center, Okjeong Lifelong Learning Center, and Deokjeong Lifelong Learning Center.
The application period will run until 4:00 p.m. on January 27, and applications can be submitted through the newly revamped "Yangju City Lifelong Learning Portal" this year.
Membership registration on the portal is required to apply. For elderly applicants or those who have difficulty applying online, in-person registration will also be available at Deokgye and Baekseok Lifelong Learning Centers, as well as Okjeong Lifelong Learning Center.
Participants for the program will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis online. However, for certain courses where a high volume of applications is expected at once, a new automated lottery system will be introduced this year to select participants.
An official from Yangju City stated, "With the newly revamped 'Yangju City Lifelong Learning Portal' this year, we expect to achieve more systematic course management," and added, "We hope many people will participate in this program to experience the joy of learning that brings vitality to everyday life."
