Daejeon City is launching a demonstration testbed (performance testing) support project to help local small and venture businesses with innovative technologies validate their technologies in real-world settings and connect this process to commercialization and market entry.

Daejeon City will begin accepting applications this month to select participating companies for three projects totaling 1.7 billion won: customized to business demand, public demand-based problem-solving, and convergence new technology company linkage with government-funded research institutes.

The city will provide not only the necessary venues and environments for demonstrations, but also demonstration costs, expert consulting, and market entry support, offering full-cycle support focused on technology validation.

In particular, the customized demonstration testbed support project is operated in conjunction with loan support and demonstration through an agreement signed last December with the Korea Technology Finance Corporation under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Based on demonstration results, the city will support companies in securing funding and advancing commercialization.

For the public demand-based problem-solving demonstration support project, the city will validate the effectiveness of technologies aimed at improving public services or solving urban issues by supporting demonstrations at public facilities. Through exhibitions and expert consulting, the project will help expand adoption in the public sector and facilitate market entry.

The convergence new technology company linkage demonstration support project targets companies that have acquired public technologies developed by government-funded research institutes and universities in the Daedeok Innopolis. For the first time this year, a pilot purchase-linked demonstration method will be introduced to help companies secure actual public procurement records.

Details regarding the application process can be found on the Daejeon Demonstration Platform or the Daejeon Technopark website.

Daejeon City has achieved various outcomes through the demonstration testbed support project, including increased sales, new job creation, investment attraction, and overseas expansion. This year, the city plans to further strengthen the competitiveness of local companies through demonstration-focused support.

Park Jongbok, Director of Business Support at Daejeon City, stated, "Demonstration is a crucial process that connects technology to the market," and added, "We look forward to the active participation of companies with technological capabilities that have lacked opportunities for demonstration."
