Zenon Appoints Former Vice Minister Hahkdo Kim as Outside Director

Officially Appointed at Extraordinary General Meeting
Recruitment of an Expert with Policy Experience in Public and Industrial Sectors

Zenon, a company specializing in generative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, announced on January 19 that it has appointed Hahkdo Kim, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, as an outside director.


Zenon officially appointed former Vice Minister Kim as an outside director at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders held on January 15. According to Zenon, this appointment is a strategic decision aimed at enhancing management transparency and credibility while expanding into key industries such as energy and manufacturing, as the company prepares for its initial public offering (IPO).

Hahkdo Kim, the newly appointed outside director, is a leading expert in industrial policy and SME support, having served as Director General for Energy and Resources Policy at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, President of the Korea Institute for the Advancement of Technology, Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and Chairman of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency. In particular, he is expected to play a key role in broadening the application of AI technology in both public and industrial sectors during this period of industrial transformation, leveraging his comprehensive understanding of public and private sectors as well as technology policy.


Based on its accumulated expertise in generative AI solutions for the financial industry, Zenon is recently expanding its business into national infrastructure sectors such as energy, power generation, and manufacturing, as well as the SME and mid-sized enterprise markets. The addition of Director Kim is expected to generate synergy by concretizing industry-specific AX strategies and strengthening collaboration with the public sector and partnerships across industries.
