Second Edition with Fashion Designer Harris Reed
Bespoke Blending Where Boldness Meets Finesse
Pernod Ricard Korea announced on January 19 that its prestige whisky brand, Royal Salute, is launching the "Royal Salute 21YO Harris Reed Edition II," the result of a second collaboration with fashion designer Harris Reed, where the brand’s heritage intersects with contemporary fashion sensibilities.
The Royal Salute Fashion Collection is a project that expands whisky into an artistic object by combining the heritage of the British royal family and traditional whisky-making techniques with the creativity of fashion design. Each edition is completed as a highly collectible product by reflecting the fashion designer’s unique aesthetic in the blend and bottle design of Royal Salute.
Royal Salute plans to continue the synergy proven in last year’s first collaboration by once again partnering with Harris Reed, who has garnered international attention in the fashion world for bold designs that transcend gender boundaries and dramatic silhouettes. In this edition, Reed’s daring aesthetic is expressed with even more refined and restrained details, and he directly participated in the development of the blend to ensure consistency in the collaboration, adding further significance.
Royal Salute’s Master Blender, Sandy Hyslop, created a new bespoke blend through close collaboration with Harris Reed, inheriting the direction of the first partnership while incorporating Reed’s distinctive style into the blend. This blend focuses on capturing Harris Reed’s unique fashion philosophy-where feminine elegance and masculine depth harmonize-and expressing multifaceted character in its flavors.
To achieve this, Strathclyde grain whisky and Braeval malt were used to add a delicate floral character, while increasing the proportion of Longmorn and first-fill sherry butt-matured spirits to further enhance creamy and spicy notes. The result is a blend with a delicate yet bold expression, featuring harmonious notes of raspberry, creamy vanilla, cherry compote, sweet toasted oak, and warm ginger spice.
The Royal Salute 21YO Harris Reed Edition II boasts a high level of artistic completion, merging the British royal heritage cherished by Royal Salute with a modern sensibility through Harris Reed’s unique vision. Inspired by the lace of royal garments, the intricately reinterpreted crown bottle design is available in two versions. The striking contrast of the black bottle and gold accents creates a bold harmony, vividly expressing a contemporary aesthetic where strength and elegance coexist.
