Suwon 'Gyeonggi Province Damtteul' Snowfield Sledding Site Opens on the 17th... Operates Until February 28

On January 17, Gyeonggi Province opened a snowfield playground at Gyeonggi Province Damtteul in Suwon Gwanggyo Gyeonggi Convergence Town, allowing children on winter break to fully enjoy winter activities in the city.

In his welcoming remarks, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dongyeon said, "After opening Damtteul, we held events for youth on Youth Day and for residents on Residents' Day, but today we have created a winter wonderland for children and families. Our top priority was safety. If you have time, I hope you will warm up and browse some books at the Gyeonggi Library and have a wonderful time."

The opening ceremony began with a performance by the K-POP dance team 'Lastreet Crew.' Afterwards, Governor Kim, the Dream Tree Reporters, and residents of the province marked the opening by bursting a giant gourd filled with snowflakes on the snow hill.

After the ceremony, Governor Kim inspected key facilities such as the snow sledding area, ice sledding area, mini Viking ride, and experience booths together with the attendees, directly engaging with the residents.

The 'Gyeonggi Province Damtteul Winter Snowfield Playground' will operate for a total of 43 days until February 28. Any resident can enjoy a variety of play facilities for just 1,000 won.

The playground operates in two sessions: morning (10:00-13:00) and afternoon (14:00-17:00). It is closed every Monday and on Lunar New Year's Day (February 17).

Meanwhile, when Gyeonggi Province began ticket reservations on January 13, all 300 tickets for both morning and afternoon sessions on January 17 sold out within about two hours of the start of promotions, demonstrating strong interest. Tickets can be reserved on the Naver reservation page by clicking the Winter Snowfield Playground banner on the Gyeonggi Province website (gg.go.kr). On-site purchase is also available.
