The joint prosecution-police investigation team on religious-political collusion, which is investigating the alleged lobbying of politicians by the Unification Church, has reportedly questioned a close aide responsible for the private affairs of President Hak Ja Han.
According to legal sources on January 16, the joint investigation team recently summoned and questioned an individual identified as "A," who is associated with the Unification Church. "A" is known to be in charge of President Han's private affairs and also serves as her personal safe keeper.
The investigation team reportedly questioned "A" about whether the politicians suspected of lobbying had visited Cheon Jeong Gung, and whether the bundle of cash amounting to approximately 28 billion won, kept in President Han’s personal safe, was used as lobbying funds.
Just a week after its launch, on January 13, the joint investigation team also conducted a search and seizure operation in the Cheonwon complex area of Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do.
