Kyungpook National University Operates Joint Booth with Companies at CES 2026... Achieves $18.46 Million in Export Consultations

Kyungpook National University demonstrated the global competitiveness of the Daegu region’s industries by achieving remarkable export consultation results with local companies at 'CES 2026,' the world's largest IT and electronics exhibition.


The KNU Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Technology Research Institute, led by Director Kim Hyundeok, announced that it operated the 'KNU DAEGU RISE' joint booth with 14 companies participating in the Daegu RISE project at CES 2026, held in Las Vegas, USA from January 6 to 9.

Through this exhibition, the institute conducted a total of 545 consultations, achieving export consultation results amounting to approximately 18.46 million dollars.


The KNU DAEGU RISE joint booth served as a comprehensive showcase of the achievements of industry-academia cooperation accumulated by the university and companies. It introduced the competitiveness of the region’s industries to the global market through innovative products that combined the research capabilities of local universities with the field technologies of companies.


Among the participating companies, K&L Information System Co., Ltd. exhibited its 'IoT-based Hospital Incident Command System and Disaster Response Solution.'


This technology enhances hospitals’ response systems in disease disaster situations such as infectious disease outbreaks and establishes command structures within hospitals during various incidents. On site, the company held a total of 224 consultations, including one business agreement.


Moonchang Co., Ltd. presented its 'Smart Road Reflector for Preventing Traffic Accidents at Unsignalized Intersections.'


In addition to preventing intersection accidents, the company proposed the possibility of improving traffic flow by utilizing data collected at intersections.


Through this CES, Moonchang achieved one business agreement and consultation results amounting to 1.39 million dollars.


In addition, other companies participating in the joint booth showcased innovative technologies in Daegu's future industries such as mobility and healthcare, promoting the technological competitiveness of local universities and companies in the global market.


Director Kim Hyundeok stated, "This joint booth was significant in that it introduced the achievements of industry-academia cooperation created by local universities and companies to the world stage," adding, "Based on the results confirmed at CES, we will strengthen support to ensure that industry-academia cooperation can continue to demonstrate its capabilities and systematically build the regional industrial ecosystem."
