Special Lecture Organized for Gyeongbuk High School Teachers to Share Information on the High School Credit System

Kumoh National Institute of Technology (Acting President Kim Jongbok) held the "KIT High School Credit System Teacher Training" at Andong Grand Hotel on January 14, 2026, to strengthen the capabilities of high school teachers in the Gyeongbuk region regarding the high school credit system.

This teacher training was conducted in collaboration with the Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education Research Institute, based on support from the 2025 University Support Project for High School Education Contribution.
The Admissions Office of Kumoh National Institute of Technology (headed by Kim Wooseok), which organized the event, arranged the training to present the future direction for high schools in the Gyeongbuk region in line with the full implementation of the high school credit system, and to share in-depth information on changes in the university admissions process.
The teacher training featured presentations in the following order: ▲ "Changes and Prospects of University Admissions According to the High School Credit System" (Seok Sangil, University Admissions Support Officer at the Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education Research Institute); ▲ "Suggestions for High Schools' Preparation Strategies in Response to the High School Credit System" (Jang Hyunju, Teacher at Gyeongan Girls' High School); and ▲ "Good In, Better Out: The Innovative Educational System of Kumoh National Institute of Technology That Makes a Difference" (Lim Sanghoon, Director of the Center for Future Education Innovation at Kumoh National Institute of Technology).
Lim Sanghoon, Director of the Center for Future Education Innovation at Kumoh National Institute of Technology, emphasized, "The goal of university education should be found not at the point of admission, but in student outcomes at graduation." He attracted the attention of participants by presenting the university's educational innovation strategy that places student success at its core value.
Kim Wooseok, Head of the Admissions Office, stated, "With the full implementation of the high school credit system in 2025, we organized this event to enhance understanding of the connection between the high school credit system and the university admissions process, and to share the latest relevant information." He added, "It was a meaningful time to exchange and empathize with a variety of opinions from teachers in the field and to support high schools in preparing for changes in the admissions process."
Meanwhile, Kumoh National Institute of Technology recorded its highest-ever competition rate of 6.59:1 for the 2026 regular admissions, which closed at the end of December 2025.
The Admissions Office at Kumoh National Institute of Technology has actively promoted admissions through customized information sessions, high school visits, university admissions fairs, and various high school-linked programs.
