Supreme Court Justice Park Youngjae was inaugurated as Director of the Court Administration Office on the 26th, stating, "We must humbly accept the grave voices of the people."

At the inauguration ceremony held at the Supreme Court that morning, Director Park said, "The judiciary is now facing a wave of significant change," and added, "The reason why the public's demands for change in the judiciary are so strong is likely because the judiciary has fallen short in earning the trust of the people."

Director Park reiterated, "We must humbly accept the grave voices of the people," and emphasized, "We need to identify the fundamental causes of public distrust in the judiciary, and make corrections and improvements."

On this day, Director Park cited the improvement of the search and seizure system and the detention system, as well as the specialization and enhanced accessibility of the courts-such as the establishment of the Maritime International Commercial Court, the Labor Court, and the Online Court-as important future tasks for the judiciary. He stated, "Now, when public interest and expectations for judicial reform are high, is the right time to establish the direction for a future judicial system that serves the people and to identify and implement new tasks." He added, "To this end, I will keep an open mind and communicate with members of the judiciary, while also striving to engage in dialogue and persuasion with the public, including the National Assembly, the executive branch, and other relevant institutions."
