A man in his 20s who climbed over the court wall during the disturbance at the Western District Court in January last year has received a suspended prison sentence in the first trial.

On January 16, the Criminal Division 1 of the Seoul Western District Court (Presiding Judge Park Ji-won) sentenced Mr. Shin (26), who was indicted on charges of trespassing, to eight months in prison, suspended for two years.


Mr. Kwon (33), who was tried on the same charge, was sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for two years.


They were brought to trial on charges of climbing over or attempting to climb over the court wall on January 18 last year, when a pretrial detention hearing (warrant review) was held for former President Yoon Suk-yeol.
