"This Time, It's a Restaurant Showdown"... Netflix's "Black & White Chef" Returns for Season 3

Format Revamped to Four-Person Team Battle
Participant Recruitment Begins on the 16th

"This Time, It's a Restaurant Showdown"... Netflix's "Black & White Chef" Returns for Season 3

After achieving the top spot on Netflix globally for two consecutive years and leading the "cooking survival" craze, "Black & White Chef: Culinary Class War" is returning with its third season. The highlight of this season is the "Restaurant Showdown."

On January 16, Netflix announced through its official social media channels that production for Season 3 has been confirmed and that participant recruitment has begun.

The biggest change is the competition format. Unlike the previous two seasons, which focused on the individual skills of chefs, this season introduces a "team battle." Four chefs representing each restaurant must form a team and apply together.

The eligibility requirements are strict. Only colleagues currently working together at the same establishment can form a team. Forming teams by uniting acquaintances from different affiliations or assembling teams arbitrarily is not allowed. However, if the brand is the same but the locations are different, they are recognized as a single team. Beyond individual chef skills, teamwork and kitchen organization are expected to determine the outcome.

"Black & White Chef" gained worldwide popularity by depicting a competition between the "Silver Spoons," who seek to prove their status, and the "Black Spoons," who aim to overturn it. In Season 1, Kwon Sungjun of "Napoli Mafia" took the crown, while in Season 2, Choi Kangrok, who competed as the "Hidden Silver Spoon," won the championship and drew attention.

The production will once again be led by producer Kim Eunji and writer Mo Eunseol of Studio Slam, who were behind the previous seasons' success. Producer Kim Eunji stated, "We will meet viewers' expectations with an improved format."
