On Friday, the 16th, fine dust concentrations across most regions of the country are expected to reach 'bad' levels. This is due to the lingering presence of yellow dust originating from the Gobi Desert and the Inner Mongolia Plateau, as well as air pollutants, throughout the nation.
However, temperatures will be mild, with daytime highs reaching up to 16 degrees Celsius in the southern regions. Morning lows are forecast to range from -5 to 4 degrees Celsius. Most areas are expected to remain above freezing, except for some places such as Seoul (-1°C), Incheon (-1°C), and Chuncheon (-3°C).
Daytime highs will also reach 12 degrees Celsius in Gangneung, 14 degrees Celsius in coastal areas along the East Sea, Gwangju, and Daegu, 15 degrees Celsius in Busan, and 16 degrees Celsius in Ulsan.
At night, some areas such as the northern coastal region of Chungcheongnam-do along the West Sea may see light raindrops of less than 0.1 mm.
The Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "From late afternoon, dense fog is expected nationwide, so caution is needed for icy roads and black ice. In addition, the air will be very dry and strong winds will blow along the East Coast, so extra attention is required."
