The police, who are investigating allegations that Assemblywoman Kang Sunwoo received 100 million won in nomination funds, have notified her to appear for questioning on the 20th.
According to the police and other sources on January 15, the Public Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has notified Assemblywoman Kang Sunwoo, who is under suspicion of violating the Anti-Graft Act, the Political Funds Act, and bribery charges, to appear for questioning on the 20th.
Assemblywoman Kang is accused of receiving 100 million won from City Councilor Kim Kyung ahead of the 2022 general election and then returning it.
The police conducted a search and seizure of Assemblywoman Kang's residence, her National Assembly office, and City Councilor Kim's residence on January 11.
City Councilor Kim submitted a written confession to the police stating that he delivered money to Assemblywoman Kang at a cafe in 2022 and is undergoing a second round of questioning on this day.
