Seo-gu District in Gwangju Metropolitan City is strengthening support for youth activities by operating the 'Seo-gu Youth PI (Personal Identity) School', with a particular focus on the youth instructor program.

The PI School is an integrated growth program that supports career planning, employment competency, financial education, and youth instructor training for young people aged 19 to 39 who live or are active in Gwangju. This year, Seo-gu is allocating a total budget of approximately 87 million won to provide customized education, enabling young people to plan their careers and enter society stably.

Seo-gu trains youth instructors through the Youth Talent Sharing School. The program has expanded from 15 participants last year to 20 this year, providing participating youth with experience in program planning and lecture management. Seo-gu plans to support instructor fees and material costs to help strengthen practical skills and encourage social participation. In addition, Seo-gu will collaborate with related organizations, such as 'Job Station Sangmu', to expand the scope of activities for youth instructors.

In the career planning course, field-based special lectures and a career course based on the Birkman assessment will be offered. In the employment competency course, job study groups tailored to each stage of employment and special lectures on utilizing artificial intelligence for job searching will be provided.

In the practical skills course, financial education on daily economics will be offered, including asset management and understanding pensions, to provide essential economic knowledge for everyday life.

Alongside these, new projects will also be implemented.

Seo-gu will allocate a total budget of 60 million won to operate youth participation-based resident participatory budgeting projects, including the 'Welcome Box Support' to help newly relocated youth settle in the region, the 'Youth Policy ON Notification' to provide policy information to digitally savvy youth, and the 'Youth Dream Up Project' to support personalized job-seeking activities based on individual strengths.

Meanwhile, last year, more than 1,800 young people used the youth center through the 'Seo-gu Youth PI School', and the overall satisfaction rate with the program was very high at 96%. In particular, participants in the youth instructor program expanded their actual lecture activities, achieving meaningful results in both strengthening youth capabilities and increasing social participation.

Seo-gu Mayor Kim Ikang stated, "We will continue to support young people so that they can proactively and positively plan for their futures," adding, "We will work together to ensure that the growth of youth leads to sustainable growth for the region."
