The 'Walking School Bus' is a school commute safety support program in which traffic safety instructors accompany lower-grade elementary school students to and from school to protect them from traffic accidents and various crimes.

Previously, Mayor Lee Mingun had accepted a proposal from the Ansan City Walking School Bus Promotion Committee last month regarding the introduction of this system.

During the meeting, the two organizations reached a consensus on the need for the initiative and explored various operational plans, including participation by parents and volunteers. Going forward, they plan to conduct a demand survey at each school and gradually develop step-by-step implementation strategies.

Mayor Lee stated, "Ansan Office of Education, schools, and the local community will work closely together to establish effective measures for commute safety and create changes that citizens can truly experience."
