Evolving into an AI, Robotics, and Senior Healthcare Platform Company
Targeting Senior and Workwear Markets... Aiming for Commercialization Within the Year
Hyungji Elite announced on January 15 that it has launched its subsidiary corporation, Hyungji Robotics, marking its entry into the wearable robot business.
On January 14, Hyungji Elite held a launch ceremony for the Hyungji Robotics corporation at the Hyungji Global Fashion Complex Center in Songdo, Incheon. The event was attended by Choi Junho, CEO of Hyungji Elite, as well as key business division representatives, who shared the vision for the new business initiative and detailed roadmaps.

Hyungji Elite plans to release wearable robot products that assist with rehabilitation and muscle support in daily life. Through this, the company aims to transform itself from a fashion company into an artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and senior healthcare platform enterprise.
The wearable robots, which combine apparel design and manufacturing capabilities with robotics technology, are considered a convergence field that is difficult for existing robotics companies to achieve on their own. Hyungji expects that the integration of fashion technology and robotics engineering will enable commercialization in markets such as senior care, rehabilitation, and daily assistance, while also expanding its reach into related industries.
Initially, the company plans to focus on distributing “wearable robots for senior activity assistance” and “wearable robots for workwear safety support.” Its strategy is to quickly secure each market by leveraging the group’s senior-focused distribution network and expertise in the workwear sector. In the mid- to long-term, Hyungji aims to develop its own wearable robot technology and lead the global market.
The new robotics business will be directly overseen by CEO Choi Junho. To establish a business strategy for this new venture, Lee Joongil, formerly of Doosan, has also been recruited as the group’s Head of Future Business.
The company is also expanding its collaborations with global technology firms on all fronts. Recently, Hyungji signed a memorandum of understanding with Shanghai Zhongshuai Robot Co., Ltd., a Chinese intelligent exoskeleton robot company, and began joint research and development. During the presidential visit to China, the company discussed cooperation with CATL, the world’s largest battery company, as part of its activities as an economic delegation member.
Hyungji is also accelerating the establishment of a global component supply chain and technology network.
A Hyungji Elite representative stated, “The launch of Hyungji Robotics marks a pivotal moment for Hyungji Elite, as it evolves into a company leading the future industry by merging fashion and advanced technology. This year, we will focus all our capabilities on establishing ourselves in the domestic market and commercializing our products, and from next year, we will expand global partnerships and aggressively build overseas distribution networks.”
