Contributed to Achieving 16 Billion Won in Product Sales Last Year
The National Heritage Promotion Agency announced on January 15 that it had presented plaques of appreciation to its partner companies, Lime Korea and Mimi Design, on January 8 for their contributions to increasing sales of cultural products.
Lime Korea received positive responses from domestic and international consumers for launching the "Gat Cup," a modern reinterpretation of the traditional hat worn by Joseon scholars, while Mimi Design gained popularity for its "wine stopper" featuring royal patterns.
According to the agency, sales of "K-Heritage" products reached an all-time high of 16 billion won last year. The popularity of K-content, such as the Netflix animated film "K-Pop Demon Hunters," has led to increased consumer interest in traditional products like the gat and Ilwolobongdo (the Sun, Moon, and Five Peaks folding screen).
Director Lee Guyoung stated, "This year, we plan to focus on developing products that promote Korea's heritage, taking the opportunity of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee meeting to be held in Busan."
