Inaugural Address on the 9th
Sharing the Philosophy of "Customer-Centric Management"
NH Nonghyup Card announced on January 15 that Jungwhan Lee, the newly appointed President, shared his management philosophy in his recent inaugural address, emphasizing the need to directly confront the uncertain external environment and strengthen the company's fundamentals.
President Lee described the current period as one of change and challenge. He outlined the direction NH Nonghyup Card should pursue: maximizing customer value, strengthening digital competitiveness, and focusing on sound, fundamentals-based management.
Since joining the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation in 1995, Lee has held positions such as Head of the Muju County Branch, Head of Corporate Restructuring at NH Nonghyup Bank, Head of Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) Review, and General Manager of the Jeonbuk Regional Headquarters. He was appointed President of NH Nonghyup Card on January 1.
According to NH Nonghyup Card, he is recognized for his performance across both frontline sales and key headquarters roles, earning a reputation for stable organizational leadership.
President Lee identified customer-centric management as the top priority. He stated, "The essence of a card company is to provide tangible benefits and convenient services that customers can truly feel," adding, "We will break away from established practices, thoroughly review all processes from the customer's perspective, and make continuous improvements."
Regarding strengthening digital competitiveness through future technology, he said, "We will steadily build a foundation for utilizing next-generation technologies such as Agentic AI so that we do not fall behind rapidly evolving artificial intelligence trends," and added, "Rather than rushing, we will focus on enhancing technological completeness and building an AI environment optimized for our business to proactively secure future competitiveness."
He also pledged to diversify revenue streams and pursue sustainable growth. To overcome the limitations of the traditional credit card business, he emphasized the active discovery of new sources of revenue and the establishment of a robust financial structure through thorough risk management, ensuring resilience against any changes.
President Lee called for aggressive marketing to expand market dominance. He said, "We need to implement sophisticated marketing that precisely addresses customer demand based on thorough data analysis," and added, "By providing benefits and differentiated experiences that customers can truly feel, we will elevate our brand competitiveness to the highest level."
He also addressed the need to advance risk management strategies, stating, "The foundation of the financial industry is trust and soundness," and, "We will further refine our risk management system using the latest data modeling."
President Lee encouraged employees by saying, "The challenges we face are both a crisis and an opportunity for growth," and urged, "Let us open a new future for NH Nonghyup Card together through field-oriented communication and a flexible organizational culture."
