Proactive Response to New Law Taking Effect in March Next Year
One-Stop Management System to Be Introduced
Mapo District in Seoul (Mayor Park Gangsu) will establish a Care Integration Team within the Welfare Policy Division of the Welfare Companion Bureau on January 19 and begin full-scale regional integrated care support. This is a proactive measure to respond to the "Act on the Integrated Support of Regional Care Including Medical and Nursing Care" (Integrated Care Support Act), which will take effect on March 27 this year.

The Integrated Care Support Act aims to ensure that people who have difficulty performing daily activities due to frailty, disability, illness, or accidents can continue to live healthy lives in their communities by integrating and connecting care support such as medical and nursing care.
The Care Integration Team will establish a comprehensive care service system encompassing healthcare, health management, long-term care, daily living, and family support. The team plans to develop annual implementation plans for the integrated care project and systematically operate the Integrated Care Council and Integrated Support Meetings. Training will also be provided for district staff and private service providers to enhance understanding and strengthen capabilities in integrated care.
Mapo District will set up integrated support counters at local community centers to identify those eligible for integrated care, conduct home visits, and provide one-stop management from service connection to follow-up. Integrated information desks will also be established at related medical, nursing, and welfare institutions to make it easier for residents to access relevant services.
Mapo District has actively promoted the Home Medical Benefit Project, a component of the community integrated care initiative, and previously received an Excellence Award in the "2025 Best Practices in Medical Benefit Case Management Contest."
Mayor Park Gangsu stated, "With the establishment of the Care Integration Team, we will focus all administrative resources to ensure that residents can lead healthier and more stable lives," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that community integrated care becomes a truly helpful and effective system."
