Progress of Storm and Flood Prevention Projects
Inspection of Safety Management Measures for Cold Wave Preparedness
Hapcheon County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on January 15 that it had conducted inspections of the progress of storm and flood prevention projects currently underway to protect the lives and property of residents, as well as the status of safety management measures in preparation for cold waves.
The inspection was led by Director of Safety and Construction Lee Dongryul and was organized to comprehensively review whether each disaster prevention project site was proceeding as planned, to identify any issues arising during the implementation process, and to check the adequacy of winter safety management measures.
Director Lee Dongryul and other relevant officials visited the project sites in person to inspect the installation status of drainage pump station structures and foundations, and to check the progress of embankment construction, as well as the status of bridge demolition and temporary facility installation.
They also thoroughly examined the safety management practices at construction sites during winter and checked whether potential hazards to on-site workers were being properly managed.
Director Lee Dongryul stated, "Disaster prevention projects are directly linked to the lives of our residents, so not only is process management important, but special attention is also required to prevent safety accidents during the winter." He added, "We will continue to focus on on-site inspections to ensure smooth progress of the projects."
Based on the results of this inspection, Hapcheon County plans to immediately address any deficiencies and will continue regular on-site inspections to do its utmost to create a safe living environment for residents, free from disasters.
