49.5% of Gyeongnam Residents Say "Governor Park Wansu Is Doing Well" ... Another Increase from Previous Month

The positive rating for Governor Park Wansu of Gyeongnam Province's job performance has risen once again.


On January 14, the Gyeongnam Provincial Government announced that, according to the "Metropolitan Government Heads December 2025 Job Performance Evaluation" released by polling agency Realmeter, Governor Park received a positive approval rating of 49.5%.


This figure represents a further increase of 1.4 percentage points from 48.1% in November, which itself was up from 46.0% in October of the previous year.


The negative rating for Governor Park dropped by 1.1 percentage points from the previous month, reaching 35.4%.


As a result, Governor Park maintained his 6th place ranking among the 16 metropolitan government heads, excluding the acting mayor of Daegu, the same as the previous month.

Governor Park received positive evaluations for his job performance in most regions of the province, with positive ratings outpacing negative ones.


In particular, the positive approval rating was highest at 63.0% in the central-western regions, including Jinju, Miryang, Changnyeong, and Geochang.


The resident life satisfaction ranking among metropolitan cities and provinces rose by two places, from 11th in the previous month to 9th.


The positive evaluation of resident life satisfaction decreased by 1.1 percentage points, from 62.8% in the previous month to 61.7% in December, while the negative evaluation increased by 3.0 percentage points, from 29.1% to 32.1%.


The relative index for the political party affiliation of metropolitan government heads increased by 10.7 points, from 102.1 in September to 112.8, jumping four places from the previous month to rank 5th.


This survey was conducted by Realmeter, a professional polling agency, from November 28 to 30 and December 29 to 31, 2025, targeting 13,600 people aged 18 and over nationwide (800 people per city/province for both October-November and November-December), using a random digit dialing (RDD) automated response method for both landline and mobile phones.


The margin of error for each metropolitan area sample is ±3.5 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, with a response rate of 3.2%.
