Counter and ATM Services Restored
"Disruption Not Caused by Hacking"
A disruption occurred in the post office financial network system.
According to the Korea Post on January 14, starting at around 3:14 p.m. that day, a failure in the post office's financial network system caused disruptions to deposit and insurance services at financial counters, automated teller machines (ATMs), as well as internet and mobile financial services.
By around 5:20 p.m., counter systems and ATM transactions had been restored, but the disruptions to internet and mobile financial services have not yet been resolved.
The Korea Post stated that it is currently investigating the cause of the system failure and working on restoration. The agency also clarified that the disruption was not caused by hacking or any other form of cyber intrusion.
